Team Leader/Supervisor

Duration: 12-15 Months
Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Management
Apprentices must achieve level 2 English and maths where they do not have an equivalent qualification.

Who is this apprenticeship for?

This apprenticeship is suitable for first line management roles, those with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.


What will they learn?

This apprenticeship will provide your employees with the technical skills around line management to add real value on a day-to-day basis. They will focus on understanding how to develop leadership qualities while ensuring they are building relationships both upwards and downwards. Focus on communication will be critical to ensure delivery of the teams results.

They will strengthen their ability to understand finance and their understanding of how their contribution and decision making can have a direct impact on the businesses bottom line.


How will they learn?

Our Skills Coaches will deliver a blended approach to learning and coaching providing all the resources your employee needs. Our intuitive e-portfolio and learner management platform will enable apprentices and manager to access their work anytime and anywhere to fit around their working life.

The sessions will be delivered face-to-face, via e-learning and via off-site workshops that develop internal stakeholder relationships and allow development of key skills essential for the program.


Apprentices will develop knowledge in the following areas:

  • Building relationships and improving interpersonal & communication.
  • Project & financial management.
  • Effective decision making.
  • Awareness of self and self-development.



Along with leading and managing people some of the skills gained will be:

Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship Overview

Programme Delivery


At the start of your programme you will be assigned a qualified tutor who will build upon the existing leadership and management skills, knowledge and behaviours, stretch and challenge.

One to One Tutorials

Delivered online and in person to support you further develop your management knowledge, skills and behaviours. This will always be arranged to suit the needs, wants of the apprentice and those of the organisation.

Distance Learning / Self-Study

Completion of self-study on a range of theories, models and techniques to embed learning and demonstrate knowledge. Briefings, guidance, and resources are provided, accessible 24 hours a-day through an online learning platform.

Workshops & Work Shadowing

Usually delivered off-site with a group of managers form across the business. The workshops are designed to be engaging and forward-thinking giving skills that can be developed and enhanced through shadowing senior members on the job.

Essential Skills (Exam)

The achievement of Functional Skills, transferrable skills for today’s business environment in English and maths at level 2 are a requirement for the achievement of this apprenticeship if exemptions cannot be provided. Delivered with contextualised learning while on program.

End-Point Assessment

Completion of a knowledge test, portfolio of work, presentation, competency-based interview and professional discussion all contribute to the requirements for passing this end point assessment.
